Excellent clean hostel perfect for backpackers, stags and groups. Stayed in a 10 bed room. Each bed has its own locker and from what I could gather you won't share a room with people you wouldn't know.
I would not take children to this hostel, it is full stag/hen parties and as such can be very noisy.
Quite hard to find. It is above the Costa coffee and the entrance is next to the Italian restaurant.
Close to center, nice and big room, very spacious common place/kitchen and all the facilities a traveler needs. Thanks God, the other guests in the hostel respected the rule and kept quiet during the night although some of them did a heavy duty drinking till morning :) We had a four bed room with private toilet and it was nice and clean. In the common part the staff did a great job keeping it clean and neat. It's difficult to keep toilets clean when guests get drunk :D
This is the first time I have ever stayed in a hostel and will certainly do so again. I was originally attracted by the location, but I found the staff very welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. There is a nice kitchen area further along which had a fridge cooker and toaster. All looked very new. The building it is located in is attactive, there are plenty of restaurants near by. When we stayed, there was a free concert in a nearby square. Lots of people wandering around, chatting, drinking, enjoying each others company. The whole area feels very safe. The area is quite noisy but having read previous reviews, I came prepared with earplugs and had a great night's sleep.
The best smelling sheets Ive ever had at a hostel. 5 friends and I stayed for 3 nights and we absolutely enjoyed every minute. Our room had a private balcony and I watched the street performers every morning as I drank my coffee. The kitchen was great and overlooks a square with a really pretty public pond/pool right by Deak Ference train station. It was our best hostel expereince out of a 3 week backpacking trip. Super cheap as well!!
We had a nice room, clean and comfortable at the separate apartment with kitche. Everything was good till at the very last moment we suddenly discovered that we cannot pay with credit card coz' the apartment that we were in is separate business from hotel (?!) We had to run to ATM hoping to catch our flight. Being 3 nights at the place no one bother to tell us that we can pay only in cash. This sad ending left a very bitter taste on our overall experience in Budapest and in Adagio hostel.
Great location, hostel is nice + cleaning ladies do a great job. Regrettably some of the staff need some basic lessons to improve their interpersonal skills (or get a job they like) + it doesn't bode well for a hostel when there are staff with bad attitude on reception, particularly the night shift guys.
We stayed at this hostel in a private room for 4 nights. It has everything you would need; kitchen (albeit it a small one), spacious common room, decent wifi and laundry facilities (although these are expensive - man at reception was kind enough to point us in the direction of a nearby laundromat which was good value).
Location is the biggest draw, as the hostel is situated very centrally and on the historical Adrassy street in a beautiful monument building and right next to the St Stephen's Basilica. There are plenty of places to eat and drink within 5-10 minutes walk, and the Danube is only a 15-20 minute stroll through town. Staff here overall were helpful, although 1 member of the night time reception staff was far too busy socialising with what seemed like his girlfriend to help anyone and came across a little hostile. The others were great.
Would consider staying again as good value, thanks.
Good hostel. Clean bathrooms and bedrooms. The lockers in the bedrooms aren´t very big, so it´s not possible to put the bag inside, only the valuables. They don´t lock and don´t give you the key to the bedroom door. The location is great, close to a lot of nice places.
This hostel is perfect for young people who want to stay in the city centre and at a very cheap price, with a nice service. I stayed in a private bedroom with 2 friends: the room was quite big and clean, we had a big window and a small private bathroom (anyway, very comfortable). Breakfast is free included in the room price, but it is quite poor even if complete...milk, musli, Kellogg's, jam, butter, bread... Coffee to do by your self..orange juice.. But anyway All the staff speaks English so you can easily ask them for more -milk- and they will serve you in a couple of minute. Don't hesitate to stay in the Adagio Hostel!
